Mer Telemanagement Solutions (MTS), of the C. Mer Group, has received an order to install its new management system at Gillette, a leading international corporation. The system operates on telephony communications, data communications, and on Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The company launched the system at the CeBIT exhibition in Hannover, Germany, which closed yesterday.
This is the first installation of the system. In the initial stage, only the management components will be installed on telephony networks, while management components for data communications and Internet will be installed later.
MTS also announced this week that it had won a Citibank tender in Poland for installing another system, called TABS, at four of the bank's sites. TABS is an organizational telephony network management system, 55,000 of which have been installed to date in Israel and overseas, including in Gillette. The deal with Citibank in Poland is worth $100,000.
According to MTS general manager Amir Rosenzweig, an understanding has been reached between MTS and Citibank, according to which the system will be installed at all the bank's European branches. No agreement was concluded in writing on the matter, however.
The new system, called TABSweb, is a follow-up to the TABS system. Rosenzweig told "Globes" that the system can be controlled through the Internet from any location around the globe. He said the system also allows billing on IP networks. In addition, the system gives warning of malfunctions, and provides the manager with recommendations of how to avoid them in the future.
A further advantage of the system is its ability to inexpensively route international calls, according to differing prices of international call companies. Rosenzweig claims that he has not encountered any competitive product offering the collection of applications contained in the MTS system.
