NetVision Invests NIS 10 Mln in Converting Infrastructure to High-Speed Internet

NetVision is investing NIS 4 million in expanding its network deployment in preparation for increased Internet demand after Bezeq cut its surfing rates.

In the last few months, Internet provider NetVision invested NIS 10 million in expanding its infrastructure deployment for high-speed Internet users. The investment is part of the company's preparations for the possibility that the Ministry of Communications will allow Bezeq, the cable companies, or other inland communications market players to operate high-speed broadband Internet services.

NetVision ordered additional NIS 4 million worth of equipment from Bezeq this week, for expanding its network deployment. The move comes in preparation for an increase in Internet surfing, after Bezeq launched its cut-rate surfing packages yesterday.

NetVision ordered from Bezeq equipment that makes it possible to add another 3,000 telephone lines. The company also ordered a corresponding amount of Cisco digital modems operating on DSP technology. The new lines will be installed all over the country, so as to enable customers to surf on the Internet at the price of a local call.
