Exalink to Provide Wireless Internet Service to Latin America's CGTEL - Coasin Group of Telecommunications

Exalink's technology supports both WAP and other IP-based protocols

Exalink announced today it has signed an agreement with CGTEL - Coasin Group of Telecommunications - a leading South American telecommunications engineering, distribution, integration and marketing company.

Under the terms of the relationship, Exalink is providing its advanced Mobile Internet platform to CGTEL enabling wireless operators in most regions of the continent to deliver advanced wireless services to Latin American mobile subscribers.

The product is based on Exalink's RT-PACE (Real Time Conversion Engine) technology which supports both WAP and other IP-based protocols. Unlike a WAP proxy, protocol conversion is performed on the network layer, enabling enhanced performance as well as quality of service and security policies, which can be enforced in real time.

Exalink is currently operating WAP pilots with five leading European wireless carriers and is supplying its technology to Nissho Iwai Infocom, a leading supplier of wireless and IP solutions to Japan's leading mobile operators. Orange's Israel-based Partner Communications is also testing Exalink's Internet platform, as well as that of competitor Phone.Com of the US.
