Cerent Corporation was sold a year ago to Cisco for $7 billion.
"Globes" has learned that Raj Singh, a founder of Cerent Corporation which was sold to Cisco last year for $7 billion, is among the investors in Israeli company Memlink. Singh participated in Memlink's first financing round totaling $3 million, at a company value of $8 million, after money. He will join the company's board of directors.
The round was led by the Israel Seed Partners venture capital fund, which invested $2.1 million. Other investors in the round include two leading analysts in telecommunications equipment, and Tel Aviv-listed Nisko.
Founded in 1999, Memlink develops optic switches and systems.
This is Israel Seed Partners' third investment in optic networks.
