Satellite broadcast company YES today began trial broadcasts in the Kiryat Shmona and Lachish regions. The company is broadcasting 30 digital channels, which at this stage do not include the cable companies' independent channels.
Among the channels being broadcast are: the First Channel, the Second Channel, Channel 23 (educational), three movie channels (YES 1, YES2, and YES3), a cartoon network, the US Hallmark series, the Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel, CNN, National Geographic, Viva, VH1 Music, BBC World, Sky News, BBC Prime, EuroSport, the IBA Channel 33, the FTV fashion channel, MTV, five radio stations, and one channel each in Arabic, Russian, French, and German.
YES said that the cable companies' independent channels: 3,4, 5 (the Sports Channel), and 6 (the Children's Channel), would be broadcast in full by the company from July.
