Alon-Dor Energy group general manager David Weissman: The company is negotiating with the Romanian government and will also operate in the Czech Republic and Poland.
Dori and Dani Dankner, the Dor Gas company, and a European Bank fund are setting up a partnership to invest in natural gas infrastructure projects in Eastern Europe. This was announced by Alon-Dor Energy group general manager David Weissman at the Oil Conference taking place in Canada. Dor Gas is owned by Dor Energy.
The Dankners and Dor Gas have set up a joint company which will hold 50% of the new venture, according to an agreement between the parties. The European Bank's fund will hold 30%, and another party will hold 20%. Negotiations with the fund are in full swing.
In the first stage, the new partnership is negotiating with the Romanian government for a franchise to transport natural gas in Romania. The partnership also intends to be active in transporting gas in the Czech Republic and Poland.
Eastern Europe has pipelines for transporting gas between countries. The pipelines begin in Russia, pass through Eastern Europe, and reach Western Europe.
