BSR, Dankner, Rubinstein to Buy 3,500 Dunams in Yatir in 14-18% Deal

The developers will build a neighborhood of 1,500-2,000 houses at a value of $330-460 million. The Israel Land Administration will receive 272 plots. The consortium beat out Mey Arad for the tender.

A consortium consisting of BSR Consulting Engineers, Dankner Investments, Avraham Rubinstein and architect Sami Tito won an Israel Land Administration tender to buy 3,500 dunams (975 acres) in Yatir, east of Beer Sheva, to build a large neighborhood of houses. The Israel Land Administration will receive 272 developed plots in exchange, constituting 14-18% of the plots for development in the project.

The developers will build one of the largest neighborhoods of houses in Israel, with (after proper appropriations) will consist of 1,500-2,000 units of 180 sq.m. each, built on 500-600 sq.m. plots. The houses will be sold for $220-230,000 each, making the entire project worth $330-460 million. Some of the houses may be converted to split-level apartments. The houses will approximately 30% cheaper than houses in Omer, and 15% less than the small houses in Beer Sheva's Ramot neighborhood. Yatir lies 20 kms. east of Beer Sheva. The site is adjacent to a forested area, and will be connected to the main highways via access roads.
