Clal Insurance is offering medical and accident insurance to US and Canadian citizens arriving in Israel for business visits. Israeli companies have ordered the insurance. The offer will allow these parties to visit Israel, despite the US State Department warning on travel to Israel.
The insurance will be up to a ceiling of $1 million, with a slope for cases of disability and other serious injury.
The State Department’s warning means that the personal insurance of businessmen and other US citizens is not valid for Israel. Clal Insurance’s offer is designed to solve this problem. The premium will be determined on an individual basis. Clal Insurance general manager Avigdor Kaplan today said that Clal Insurance had decided “to offer Americans and Canadians alternative insurance. We are also willing to offer similar insurance to citizens of other countries encountering a similar problem.
