Ministry of Environment to invest NIS 34 mln in waste recycling facilities

1.1 tons of urban waste will be recycled over five years.

Ministry of Environment director general Yitzhak Goren today said the Ministry would invest NIS 34 million in setting up urban waste recycling facilities.

Goren said that some of the facilities would operate on a new biological technology developed by Israeli company Arrow Ecology.

“Arrow Ecology’s waste processing method includes fermentation and disintegration processes induced by germs in non-oxygen conditions. In this method, there is no need to treat waste or separate it into various categories before its disposal,” Goren said.

1.1 tons of urban waste will be recycled in this way over five years.
