Nokia Networks Israel employs a staff of 40.
Finnish company Nokia announced the appointment of Lars Wolf as Nokia Networks Israel general manager.
Nokia said that the appointment was part of expanding the company’s operations in Israel. The ultimate objective is to turn Nokia Networks Israel into a leading provider of cellular communications infrastructures in the Israeli market, including the supply of applications and advanced services to third-generation cellular operators.
Nokia Networks Israel was set up a year ago, and belongs to Nokia International’s networks division. About one-third of the international concern’s activity is in the infrastructures sector. The networks division supplies cellular operators around the world with infrastructures, services and applications enabling the establishment of third-generation cellular communication networks (broadband cellular networks).
Nokia Networks Israel obtained a foothold in the Israeli infrastructures market last May, when it signed a contract to supply base systems and accompanying services to Partner. Nokia Networks Israel is bidding in Cellcom’s tender for third-generation communications infrastructures.
Nokia Networks Israel employs 40 staff. Prior to his present post, Wolf was country manager for Romania and Bulgaria.
