A virtual job fair, the first of its kind in Israel, will take place in May. Wanted ads company High Tech Job is behind the initiative. The organizers estimate that 100 high-tech companies will take part.
Preparations ahead of the opening of the fair are currently in full swing, including the setting up of a sort of virtual industrial park, in which participating companies will present themselves and their available jobs. The organizers are scheduled to launch a television campaign in the next few weeks aimed at attracting potential participants.
”The high-tech community lives on the Internet, so the idea is tailor-made for it,” High Tech Job general manager Israel Goldstein says. “We all know that normally, the low of high-tech visit job fairs, those without experience and without work. The quality workers don’t visit for fear of being seen. A virtual trade fair offers anonymity and availability in that they can visit the fair during working hours as well.”
During the two-week online fair, job seekers can chat with human resources managers of participating companies.
Participation prices are in the range of $8,000-13,000. “Our slogan is that we build a home for the price of an advertisement,” Goldstein says.
According to Goldstein, the plan is to hold a job fair every three months.
