Elbit Systems (Nasdaq: ESLTF) signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin Argentina to upgrade AT-63 Pampa jets for the Argentine Air Force. The Pampa is the Argentine Air Force’s main light training and attack jet.

Elbit Systems will provide and install avionics, working as a subcontractor for Lockheed Martin Argentina, which is the main contractor for the upgrade, under a government contract. Elbit Systems’ share of the deal is worth $15 million, spread over three years.

The upgrade is intended to provide the Argentine Air Force improved training and attack capabilities, based on Elbit System’s extensive experience in upgrading military jets, trainers and helicopters throughout the world.

Elbit Systems announced that the contract is part of the company’s strategy to expand operations in Argentina.
