The US, Russia, and Argentina cancelled their participation in the International Exhibition for Environmental Technologies, being held this week at the Tel Aviv fairgrounds. The countries cited security concerns as the reason for their cancellation.
Tel Aviv Trade Fairs and Convention Centers CEO Amir Tamari said the cancellations are a serious blow to the exhibition.
This is the first time the International Exhibition for Environmental Technologies is being held in Israel. 200 Israeli and foreign companies are expected to present a range of products and services related to the environment.
Participating countries include Austria, Britain, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Papua-New Guinea, and Poland.
Several counties, including Egypt, Jordan and Morocco, had already announced they would not participate, due to the conflict with the Palestinians.
