Yokne’am-based Bateman Engineering is in advanced negotiations with Nigerian government representatives on the design and construction of a huge industrial and real estate project in the Nigerian state of Kogi.
The project is worth $270 million. Batemen Engineering general manager Dr. Eli Barnea said the project includes the design and construction of a cement factory.
The factory will produce a million tons of cement annually for real estate projects in the capital city of Abuja. Bateman Engineering will also design and construct a village for 400 employees of the factory and the power station, which will supply electricity for the cement factory and the village.
A Nigerian delegation headed by President Abu-Bacher is visiting Israel to conclude the final details and timetable for the project.
Bateman Engineering was founded over 20 years ago and employs 300 workers in Yokne’am and Beersheva. The company is mostly involved in engineering projects in Israel and overseas.
