Computer manufacturer NEC signs 2-year agreement with start-up Divago.com

Divago.com's software automatically provides a list of alternative Internet addresses when an incorrect address is typed.

Israeli start-up Divago.com today announced the signing of a two-year cooperation agreement with NEC, the world’s sixth largest PC manufacturer. Sources close to the company estimated the value of the agreement at $3 million a year.

Under the agreement, starting in September new series of NEC and Packard Bell computers that will be sold in Europe will be equipped with Divago.com’s new software. The software automatically provides a list of alternative Internet addresses when an incorrect address is typed.

Internet error messages, formulated as DNS error or code 404 – page does not exist, make up an average of 2% of all pages viewed on the Internet. Divago.com’s development enables users to reach their desired sites more easily and quickly.

Divago.com CEO Youval Barak said the agreement was the company’s first in the international arena, adding that the company is currently negotiating with a number of other international concerns.

Divago.com was founded in March 2000 in the US. The company has offices in San Ramon, California and a development center in Bnei Brak. To date, the company has raised $300,000 from a private investor at a company value of $2 million.

In recent months, Divago.com completed development of its flagship product, intended to turn the non-user friendly, white error page into a page with useful, relevant content. The product is designed to facilitate continuous, obstacle-free surfing by providing automatic real time guidance.
