Explosion at Binyamina railway station kills two, severely injures three

The police believe the source of the blast was a suicide bomber. The Haifa-Tel Aviv railway line is closed.

An explosion at the railway station in Binyamina in northern Israel has killed two people and injured ten, three of them severely. The explosion happened at about 7:30 this evening. The police say the source of the blast was a suicide bomber, who is one of the two people killed. Security forces are pursuing a car believed to have transported the bomber.

The injured in the explosion have been taken to Hillel Yaffe hospital in Hadera. An emergency telephone number has been set up at the hospital - 125 5166.

The Haifa-Tel Aviv railway line is closed.
