Terayon CEO Zaki Rakib; "Terayon continues to devote substantial financial and human resources to develop cable voice, data and video solutions... though we naturally evaluate our development programs regularly..."
Terayon Communication Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: TERN), a leading provider of broadband solutions worldwide, is denying published reports that the company is exiting the voice-over-cable business and that the company has shut down its cable telephony business unit.
"Terayon remains firmly committed to offering our cable operator customers a full line of systems and solutions to deliver broadband voice services. We have several notable customer wins with our Multigate cable telephony system and are developing a new generation of voice-over-cable solutions which use Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology," said Zaki Rakib, CEO of Terayon. "Clearly we are not exiting this business and Terayon continues to devote substantial financial and human resources to develop cable voice, data and video solutions, though we naturally evaluate our development programs regularly and realign our resources accordingly."
