Sanctum Israel develops automatic protection software

"Once installed, the WORMShield software needs no updating," a customer said.

‎Israeli start-up Sanctum today released WORMShield, the only solution available that provides users with automatic, ongoing protection against both known or unknown server-based worm attacks, including recent threats like Code Red and Nimda.

WORMShield proactively blocks and monitors all unusual or unauthorized behavior anywhere within a Web site, thereby preventing any type of application manipulation via the Web. The program eliminates the need for IT and security administrators to apply new patches on every individual server each time a new worm attacks. Additionally, WORMShield attack logs provide users with information about the source of the attack to help end-users and officials immediately stop the epidemic.

Tomer Afek, distribution channels manager at Sanctum, said, "It's estimated that in 2000, viruses and worms caused corporations $266 billion losses in the US alone."

Jason Painter of Coherent, which has bought the software said, "The worm problem is constantly growing and information managers find it hard to stay updated on aggressive new applications. Once WORDShield is installed, there's no need for updates."

Sanctum was founded in 1997. The company's products provide automatic protection against cybernet attacks for business applications. These include the theft of information and changes in site content, even if the site is exposed to unidentified security problems.‏ ‏
