America on Line (AOL) has chosen WizCom Technologies’ (Neuer Markt:WZM, WKN:915 856) Super QuickLink Pen to be offered exclusively to its members as part of an AOL Selects the Best campaign. AOL’s decision to include WizCom’s Super Pen in this campaign follows a pilot trial, in which AOL tested the popularity of this product on its US site. After finding that the product was suitable, an order for 5000 units of the Super Pen was placed. A similar pilot trial is currently underway in the UK as well.
The Super Pen, being offered by AOL, is a unique product embodying the functionalities of WizCom’s two second-generation products, Quicktionary II and QuickLink Pen, at a greatly discounted price. The QuickLink Pen is a portable, optical scanner, which enables users to scan and store up to 1000 pages of printed text, thousands of barcodes or numerous small images. This data can then be transmitted to the users PC, laptop, PDA or text enabled cellular phone. Quicktionary II enables users to scan a full line of text and see the instant translation of each individual word. Both of these products are generally sold separately.
