The reason for the withdrawal was the decision by the Ministry of Defense, which is handling the tender, not to disqualify the bid by Israel Aircraft Industries.
The consortium of flight school operator Moonair Aviation and businessman and Israel Air Force veteran Gadi Reches have withdrawn from the Air Force tender to operate the Hazerim flight training school and new trainer maintenance tender.
The Moonair-Reches consortium said the reason for the withdrawal was the decision by the Ministry of Defense, which is handling the tender, not to disqualify the bid by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), even though it apparently breached the tender's conditions to operate the new trainers.
As reported by "Globes", IAI signed an agreement with one of the manufacturers bidding for the new Air Force trainers, Pacific Aerospace Corporation of New Zealand. IAI bought the marketing rights to the company's trainer for NIS 2.5 million.
