Family Dollar buys 4,000 Lipman cash dispensers

The initial order is valued at $5 million, although the size of the deal may ultimately rise to $15 million.

Lipman Electronic Engineering, a developer of advanced payment and clearing systems for magnetic and smart cards, announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Lipman USA had won an order to supply Nurit cash dispensers to US discount retail chain Family Dollar.

Lipman says the initial order is valued at $5 million, although the size of the deal may ultimately rise to $15 million.

Under the deal, Lipman USA will provide 4,000 of its Nurit 5000 and Nurit 6000 ATM’s during the coming year. During the initial phase of the project in January, 100 Nurit 5000 ATM’s will be installed. From the second quarter of 2002, the new Nurit 6000 ATM will also be provided to the chain.

In mid-afternoon trade on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Monday, Lipman shares were up 1.4% on a NIS 3.5 million turnover, more than three times the daily average.
