Savyon, Omer, Kfar Shmaryahu – richest places in Israel

Arab, Bedouin and haredi (Jewish ultra orthodox) communities are at the bottom of the list.

Savyon, Omer and Kfar Shmaryahu are the richest communities in Israel, the Central Bureau of statistics said today, on the basis of a socio-economic index weighting income, number of vehicles and education level.

88 of Israel’s poorest communities are Bedouin and Arab communities in the Negev and Galilee. Only 18 of Israel’s poorest communities are Jewish, led by haredi (ultra orthodox) city of Immanuel and Modiin Ilit.

The average per-capita income in Israel’s richest communities is 5.5 times higher than in the poorest communities.

Only 6% of the families in the richest communities have more than four children, compared with 55% in the poorest communities.
