Mysticom expands into Europe, Asia and Northeast US

Netanya-based Mysticom, a supplier of integrated circuits for data communications, today announced a sales and technical support strategy that is designed enable global access to its products.

Mysticom has opened three new sales and technical support offices that have been strategically located near several networking equipment suppliers and manufacturers. The company’s new offices are located in the Northeastern United States (Boston, MA), Asia Pacific (Taipei, Taiwan) and Europe (Netherlands).

At the same time, the company says it will continue to expand its marketing and sales headquarters in Silicon Valley.

Mysticom says its office in Silicon Valley has enabled the company to develop strong, long-term relationships with the established leaders in networking systems, and also provides a solid foundation upon which to build an extensive worldwide sales and support infrastructure.

The company’s new Boston operation will be managed by Jeffrey Zeichick, a 12-year industry veteran. Zeichick, who has a broad background in both business and engineering, comes to Mysticom from Spike Broadband Systems.

The company says its Asia Pacific base will provide better access to leading telecommunications suppliers in Japan, Korea and China, as these suppliers transition their systems to higher speed Ethernet protocols. Barry Doong has been named president of Mysticom's operations in Asia Pacific. Most recently, he was president of M-Systems Asia, responsible for Asia sales and operations.

Rik Boelee has been named sales director for Mysticom's European sales office. He comes to Mysticom from PMC-Sierra where he acted as a strategic account manager in Europe for Fortune 500 companies.

Founded in 1997, Mysticom provides complex DSP and mixed-signal VLSI solutions for use in high-speed communication systems. Mysticom claims to be one of the only companies in the world to have successfully developed numerous high-speed networking technologies that can be used in local, metropolitan and wide area networks.

Investors in the company include Lehman Brothers, ABN AMRO Capital, Royal Philips Electronics, Giza Venture Capital, Koor Corporate Venture Capital, Cisco Systems, Eucalyptus Venture Funds, J.P. Morgan Partners, Newbury Ventures, Pitango Venture Capital and Texas Instruments.
