The Tel Aviv Magistrates Court upheld the administrative order to close the Pi Glilot gas storage facility.
The Tel Aviv Magistrates Court retained the administrative order to close the Pi Glilot gas storage facility issued by the Ramat Hasharon local council. Judge Edna Bekenstein ruled Pi Glilot will stay closed until June 13, when a new hearing will be held. She thus rejected the petition filed by PazGaz and Amisragas, which own the gas tank farm at the site.
Judge Bekenstein permitted the gas and fuel companies to remove by next Monday products left behind at the facility as a result of the administrative order. No fuel or gas shortage is therefore expected in the coming days.
The Ramat Hasharon local council issued the order last Thursday after the terrorist bomb placed in a diesel tanker exploded while the tanker was refueling at Pi Glilot. No one was injured and only minor damage was caused.
As a result of the Magistrates Court's ruling, more fuel and gas tankers will be on Israel's roads, because the fuel companies will continue using storage facilities in the north and south of the country.
