Givat Brenner says it bought the land several years ago, so there is no reason for the Supreme Court or the Israel Land Administration to intervene.
Kibbutz Givat Brenner and Ashdar will build 144 houses on kibbutz land, even if the Israel Land Administration (ILA) does not approve the deal for the full compound for 288 apartments. Proceeds from the 144 apartments will be $40 million. Kibbutz sources say the kibbutz bought the land for the first 144 houses several years ago, so there is no reason for the Supreme Court or the Israel Land Administration to intervene.
The central district regional planning and building commission deposited the plan project a week ago. No objections are expected, since the project was coordinated in advance with all regional authorities.
Ashdar, of the Ashtrom group, made a 30% deal with Givat Brenner for the 288-house compound. The developers say the ILA cannot block construction of half the project.
Givat Brenner and Ashdar say they believe the ILA cannot block the second half of the project either. According to documents in the kibbutz’s possession, it originally owned the land, and transferred it to the ILA. Givat Brenner states that under these circumstances, the compound should also be considered as private land and construction of the second half of the residential project should therefore be permitted.
