Elonex Computers (Israel) is a subsidiary of Britain's Elonex.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Elonex Computers (Israel), one of the country's largest supplier of computer systems, is about to close down. The company has not been answering its telephones for a week. Elonex Computers (Israel) sent its employees on vacation before the Sukkot holiday, after which they apparently did not return to regular work. Elonex Computers (Israel) has 40 employees.

Elonex Computers (Israel) marketing director Meir Turgeman told ''Globes'' that the company was making certain changes, but there has been no announcement that it was closing down or being liquidated. There has been no response by Elonex Computers (Israel) CEO Aharon Roth.

Elonex Computers (Israel) had an estimated $18 million in sales in 2000, and a forecast of $20 million in 2001. Elonex Computers (Israel) was founded in 1994 as a 99%-owned subsidiary of Britain's Elonex. Elonex's stake in the company was reduced last year, after Elonex Computers (Israel) merged with another Israeli company, Aerolite, but it remained the majority shareholder.
