Start-up Polyheal today announced that it has been granted a CE Mark for its first proprietary product, Polyheal 1, for the treatment of various wounds.
The granting of the CE Mark opens the door for Polyheal 1 to be utilized in the treatment of chronic and acute wounds in the European Community. The company said that certification sets the stage for Polyheal to leverage the marketing of its first product treatment and develop additional products based on its microsphere technological platform.
Polyheal 1 promotes the complex process of wound healing and tissue regeneration, induced by forming multi-point contacts with the cellular membrane. In clinical trials Polyheal 1 was shown to accelerate granulation and reduce the healing time of numerous wounds including chronic ulcers, compared with longer healing times of other current treatments.
