Four Israeli construction firms have reached the finals of a US Army Engineering Corps tender for construction of a $30 million defense installation for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Jerusalem region. The four companies Minrav, Solel Boneh Building and Infrastructure, Malibu, and Prodmir Construction, have taken US partners.
Most of cost of the project is in constructing systems; the buildings are fairly inexpensive. Israeli companies submitted 10 bids.
A US Army Engineering Corps committee in Wiesbaden, Germany examined the bids, and selected four for the final stage. The security installation is the fourth and final base the US government is constructing for the IDF under the Wye Agreements.
As previously reported in “Globes”, the tender winner for the first three bases, including Solel Boneh and Uri Dori, have already been selected.
