US Robotics selects Jungo OpenRG technology

Start-up Jungo says its OpenRG software will help speed up US Robotics’ product development cycle.

US-based modem maker US Robotics today announced that it would use software developed by Israeli start-up Jungo Software Technologies in its next generation of networking products. The value of the agreement was not disclosed.

US Robotics said it selected Jungo’s OpenRG, a suite of software technologies that includes an operating system, drivers, remote management capabilities and applications. The system is designed to simplify networking for both broadband users and service providers.

By incorporating OpenRG’s software modules into its next-generation of broadband networking products, US Robotics will be able to reduce development costs and speed up its product development cycle, Jungo says.

Jungo is a privately held company with corporate offices in San Jose, California, sales and support offices in Taiwan and an R&D center in Israel. Founded in 1998, Jungo's investors include TeleSoft Partners, Infineon Ventures and Intel Communications Fund.

Jungo CEO Ofer Vilenski said, “US Robotics is set to introduce an impressive range of next-generation home and SOHO (small office, home office) networking devices that will firmly differentiate them from other players in the market in terms of features, quality and price. Jungo’s OpenRG has provided US Robotics with a production-ready software package that succeeds in cutting precious time off their device road maps, and will allow them to get to market ahead of the competition.”
