1,450 employees at the all the Ministry of Labor and Social Services’ offices across the country have launched work sanctions following the government’s decision to close two of the eight personnel training centers.
Under the sanctions, there will be no office hours, and telephones and mail will not be handled. The employees are threatening to intensify the sanctions by shutting down the ministry’s central computer.
The Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) backs the sanctions, since it opposes closing the training centers and the consequent laying off of their employees should the measure be carried out.
