Israeli start-up A-Trap has announced a multi-year marketing agreement with Lentek of the US. Under the agreement, Lentek will market A-Trap’s mosquito traps in the US.
A-Trap estimates the five-year contract will generate $55 million in revenue, assuming that hundreds of thousands of traps and millions of refills are sold.
A-Trap has developed a wholly organic mosquito trap that preserves the natural ecological balance. The natural material that attracts the mosquitoes is completely safe for humans.
Florida-based Lentek manufactures and markets housewares, pet appliances and pest control products. The company sells its products in 67 countries worldwide.
Performance Systems brokered the deal. The Texas company handles business development, marketing and sales for Israeli companies in North America.
Prof. Meir Shinitzky, Dr Gunter Muller, and Miri Simchoni Barak founded A-Trap. Originally based in the Meytag Technology Incubator on the Golan, A-Trap won the 2002 award for best product by a technology incubator at a ceremony yesterday.
