Hebrew daily “Yediot Ahronot” reports that Cellcom registered its 400,000th GSM subscriber last Friday. Cellcom upgrades 1,000-2,000 subscribers from TDMA to GSM telephones a day.
Cellcom stated in response, “In accordance with Cellcom management’s decision to improve service for the company’s 2 million TDMA customers, the company will soon launch more advanced TDMA telephones. It should be emphasized that Cellcom’s TDMA network can support the more advanced TDMA telephones.”
