Bank Leumi USA today announced that it opened an office in Aventura, Florida, after opening branches in two other locations in the South Florida in 2002.
The office, together with existing operations in Miami and Boca Raton, will focus on bringing the bank's international, private and commercial banking services to the South Florida community, Leumi USA said.
Bank Leumi USA CEO Dr. Zalman Segal said, "Florida is an important destination for us because it offers both local and international business opportunities. It has one of the heaviest concentrations of Israeli companies anywhere in the United States and a robust import/export business."
"South Florida's infrastructure and growing trade with Latin America has already attracted many of our New York commercial banking customers to the area. Our customer relationships matter a great deal to our business and it is important for us to be where they are."
Iris Gallego, a vice president at Bank Leumi USA, will relocate from the bank's Miami branch to manage the office in Aventura. Located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the Aventura branch is strategically situated to serve both southeast Broward and northeast Miami-Dade counties, the bank stated.
"As a global bank, with many years of commercial banking experience in the US, we'll look to build on three main areas of business in South Florida, private banking, trade finance, and commercial real estate lending," said Akiva Segal, senior vice president and regional manager.
Bank Leumi USA also has branches in New York, Chicago, Encino, San Jose and Beverly Hills. The bank facilitates investments and trade between the US and Israel, and offers private banking services, securities and insurance products through its brokerage subsidiary, Leumi Investment Services.
Bank Leumi USA is the largest subsidiary of the Bank Leumi, Israel's second largest banking group after Bank Hapoalim.
