Xerox releases solution based on Press-sense platform

Press-sense is an Israel-based company that specializes in Web-based, digital workflow solutions.

Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) last week introduced a system of hardware, software and services designed to help printers and print shop managers easily create, manage and fulfill orders of customized documents, such as brochures, business cards, signs and direct mail postcards.

Xerox's "easy-vi" solution was created in conjunction with Press-sense Ltd.

Press-sense is an Israel-based company that specializes in Web-based, digital workflow solutions. Press-sense's iWay family of products is based on a technology employed by such major publications as USA Today, Newsweek and the Daily Telegraph.

The new easy-vi solution - VI stands for variable information - solution is the first collaboration between the two companies and is based on Press-sense's software platform. The two companies said that they are working together to develop streamlined printing workflows for Xerox customers.

"The complexity and the cost of variable information solutions has traditionally been the major obstacle that has discouraged print shops from offering this type of job," said Shlomo Ben-David, Press-sense CEO. "The comprehensive Xerox easy-vi approach is the type of long-awaited breakthrough that can bring variable information into the mainstream."
