Brussels Airlines starts Israel flights

Brussels Airlines will conduct four weekly flights to Israel.

Brussels Airlines, founded in place of Belgian national carrier Sabena, will begin regular flights on Wednesday or Thursday on the route to Israel. No Belgian airline has operated on the line since Sabena collapsed.

Brussels Airlines’ renewed operations follows that of Swiss International Air Lines (SWX:SWIN), which replaced Swissair, using the same employees and infrastructure. Brussels Airlines will conduct four weekly flights to Israel.

For the past year, the only airline flying on the Belgium-Israel route has been El Al, which has already signed an agreement with Brussels Airlines.
