The Israeli consulate in Los Angeles will host the 2nd Annual California Israel Eco Technology Partnership Forum for alternative energy companies on October 16.
The participating Israeli companies will present their products to California companies and state agencies. California Governor Gray Davis is sponsoring the forum, organized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and Israel Export Institute.
Israel consul - economic affairs in Los Angeles Doron Abrahami told "Globes" that the forum was designed to increase the share of Israeli companies of California's huge eco-technology budget. He said the forum was also designed to create strategic partnerships between Israeli and US eco-technology companies and the establishment of subsidiaries of Israeli companies in the US. Abrahami noted that California has a strong interest in eco-technology, and the state is considered a world leader in the field.
One participant in the forum is Solel Solar Systems of Beit Shemesh. Solel earlier acquired the intellectual property of Israeli company Luz, which built the world's largest solar energy field in California's Mohave Desert. Solel is seeking strategic partners and investors to build more solar energy fields.
Other participants are Huliot Plastic Industries of Kibbutz Sde Nehemia; Netafim, which currently operates in California through a local representative; Arad Technologies a maker of high-tech water, gas, and electricity meters from Kibbutz Dalia; EPC, a developer of wastewater treatments from Migdal Ha'Emek; Veracon Metal, based at Kinarot - Jordan Valley Technological Incubator, a developer treatments for industrial effluent containing heavy metals; Uniclean, based in the Yozmot Ha'Emek Ofek La'Oleh Technological Incubator, which develops industrial waste treatment solutions; and Arrow Ecology, a provider of ecological management services.
