(Nasdaq:OBAS) today announced that its MGW 5100 carrier grade TV streaming platform has been selected by the Venus Telephone Corporation to deliver over 130 live TV and music channels over telephone lines to its subscribers. The Venus Telephone Corporation, an independent operating company (IOC) has decided to expand the telephony services it is currently offering over its ADSL infrastructure to encompass high speed Internet access and broadcast TV over DSL. Venus chose Optibase's MGW 5100 to expand its breadth of services to include streaming broadcast TV over a single pair of telephone cables as well as TV to the PC streaming. In addition to offering TV and music channels, Venus Telephone Corporation also plans to offer its subscribers the ability to view high quality video on their home desktop PCs.
