Fishman group company TippCom and iTouch Israel from the Monitin group, which is partly owned by the Fishman group, today announced plans for a merger, subject to the necessary regulatory approval. TippCom founder and CEO Eytan Glazer will be CEO of the merged company, which will have 25 employees, and be called TippCom.
Founded in 2000, TippCom provides wireless content and advertising services. Its shareholders include Prof. Haim Ben-Shahar, Uri Packer, Yaron Merhav, and the Fishman group, which has invested a total of $2 million in the company. TippCom has developed an short messaging service (SMS) advertising message delivery service for wireless subscribers, and a paid information service for the weather, share quotations, and other topics.
Founded in 2000 by joint managing directors Amir Azulai and Igal Elon Chemerinski as a joint venture with British company iTouch, iTouch Israel is managed by iTouch PLC joint managing directors Wayne Pitout and Avi Azulai, and by Monitin Publishers, owners of ''Globes''. Globes CEO Ami Even is chairman. The company provides SMS and interactive voice response (IVR) solutions, and also operates the Bali wireless portal, where users can download ringtones, icons and images for wireless phones.
The two companies said their merger was designed to join forces in a market moving toward consolidation, and diversify the service and technologies offered to their customers.
Eliezer Fishman is the controlling shareholder in “Globes”.
