New Kopel owner the Shlomo group is a 51% partner in a group that recently won a National Coal Supply Corp. tender.

The Shlomo group, owned by Israel Shipyards owner Shlomo Shmeltzer, is entering the shipping industry. The company will initially lease a ship for transporting coal for the National Coal Supply Corp.

The Shlomo group is a 51% partner in a group that recently won a National Coal Supply tender. The other partners are Norwegian shipping company Andreas Ugland & Sons 30%, and a Danish shipping services company 19%.

Shlomo also plans to compete for other contracts and tenders in the future, and is currently considering various ways of handing the group’s new shipping business, including making it part of vehicle leasing company New Kopel, a Tel Aviv Stock Exchange-listed company under its control.
