Jacada signs development alliance deal with Oracle

Jacada says the alliance further extends its reach within the enterprise software community.

Jacada (Nasdaq: JCDA), which makes solutions that integrate legacy and up-to-date computer systems, today announced a research and development agreement with Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL).

“In the last year, Oracle has entered the market for Applications servers, where BEA Systems (Nasdaq: BEAS) is very strong,” explains Jacada CEO Gideon Hollander. “The solutions are basically advanced operating systems for enterprises. Any product that is installed at an organization needs to fit into existing systems. And to reach this goal, Oracle chose us. We will provide the tools that will allow organizations to integrate existing computer systems with new operating systems.”

“Globes”:How much do you think this deal will contribute to your revenues?

”I don’t know about providing numbers. Today we are the number one in the world for connecting applications, and our partners prove it. We are talking about the world leaders, Siebel, Peoplesoft, and CA and now we’ve linked up with Oracle. Each quarter we sign a big contract, worth more than half a million dollars, with one of the partners. I think this trend will continue.”

Despite the difficulty involved in forecasting, how much do you believe the Oracle revenues will reach?

“There is no quarter without large deals, and I believe they’ll also come from Oracle. In the first year they should exceed $1 million.”

Jacada says its Integrator product will provide Oracle Application Server customers with the ability to integrate valuable legacy applications with Oracle applications and infrastructure technology.

“This alliance with Oracle further extends Jacada’s reach within the enterprise software community and provides Jacada with significant opportunity for new revenue based on Oracle Application Server’s installed base,” said Jacada executive vice president David Holmes. “Together, Jacada and Oracle offer our joint customers a robust, real-time legacy integration solution that provides significant benefits in terms of bridging the gap between the mission-critical data and business logic locked in legacy systems.”
