Sources inform “Globes” that Tiv Taam is negotiating with Canit Hashalom Investments to set up a deli at the Ayalon, Holon, and Hod Hasharon malls. Super Sol's (NYSE: SAE; TASE:SAE) lease for its Hyper-Netto supermarket in the Ayalon mall is due to expire in 2005.
The parties are examining various formats for the store, including a small supermarket, emphasizing prepared non-frozen foods. "Globes" has reported extensively about this concept.
The Hyper-Netto supermarket at the Ayalon Mall covers 3,500 sq.m. Tiv Taam would use only half the space if it takes over the lease. Canit is considering terminating Hyper-Netto's lease before it expires, with the consent of both parties, provided it reaches an agreement with Tiv Taam on joint operations.
Canit declined to comment about the report.
