The Itim news agency, founded in 1950 by Israel's leading media companies, has apparently come to the end of the road.
Employees of Itim news agency today petitioned the Tel Aviv District Court to liquidate the agency. The allege that the agency's doors were locked when they came to work this morning.
Itim has been dying for a long time. Resuscitation efforts failed to revive it, and all that is now left is to close its eyes.
Itim was founded in 1950 by 14 of Israel's leading media companies at the time, including newspapers "Maariv", "Yediot Ahronot", "Ha'aretz", "Hatzofeh", "Al Hamishmar", "Davar", "The Jerusalem Post", "Hamodia", "Haboker", and "Lamerhav", as well as the Voice of Israel.
