MatchNet plc (Prime Standard Frankfurt:MHJG), one of the largest providers of online personals, today announced that it has signed agreements with Point Match Ltd. of Tel Aviv to purchase assets, including Cupidon.co.il, the leading internet personals services in Israel, and JCupid.com, which is a competitor of JDate.com, MatchNet's online community for Jewish singles.
MatchNet said that the deal cements its leadership position in the Jewish online personals market and is an important step in expanding the JDate brand outside the English speaking world.
MatchNet plc is one of the world's largest providers of online dating services. The MatchNet network includes AmericanSingles.com, FaceLink.com, Date.ca, MatchNet.de, MatchNet.co.uk, and MatchNet.com.au. In addition, the company operates JDate.com and JDate.co.il, Glimpse.com, an online dating community for relationship-minded gay men and women; and CollegeLuv.com, for the college-age demographic.
MatchNet was incorporated in England in 1998.
