Chief contractor Solel Boneh will also construct a 19,000-sq.m. building nearby.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Ministry of Defense are jointly constructing a 40,000-sq.m. office building with a 45,000-sq.m. parking lot in the Kirya compound in Tel Aviv, an IDF officer involved in the project said. The officer disclosed figures about the project for the first time at the Israel Association of Construction and Infrastructure Engineers (IACIE) annual conference.
The officer said that the building will be in the form of a rectangle with three sides, and have 13 storeys. There will be two wings of 10 storeys each, the northern wing for the IDF, and the southern one for the Ministry of Defense. The three upper floors will be shared. The 107-meter high building will be the first in the IDF with an underground parking lot. Ashtrom will be chief excavation contractor, and Solel Boneh Building and Infrastructure (TASE:SOLB) chief construction contractor.
The officer added that a 19,000-sq.m. building would be constructed nearby, but disclosed no details.
