Schwarzenegger to attend Museum of Tolerance ground breaking ceremony in J'lem

This will be the California governor's first official visit outside the US.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced today in Los Angeles that his first official visit as governor outside the US will be to Israel for an historic groundbreaking ceremony of the Center for Human Dignity - Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem.

“This will be an extraordinary moment for me,” the Schwarzenegger said, “and I am proud to continue to promote tolerance.” The ceremony will take place on May 2 near the new complex’s site in downtown Jerusalem. The complex will be designed by visionary architect Frank O. Gehry.

Israeli dignitaries at the event will include President Moshe Katsav, Vice Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski, and Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom, Minister of Internal SecurityTzahi Hanegbi and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Natan Sharansky, along with Simon Wiesenthal Center founder Rabbi Marvin Hier and other key North American supporters.
