Greater Rochester Enterprise to host 19 Israeli cos on business attraction visit

GRE and Israeli partner SIT selected companies whose products and services match the Rochester community, infrastructure and labor pool.

Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), an economic development organization dedicated to job creation in the Rochester region, will host Israeli homeland-security, printing and optical-technology businesses to explore opportunities in Rochester as part of GRE's "Rochester-Israel Business Attraction Visit II" in June and July. The event builds on a similar visit GRE hosted for 14 Israeli life-sciences companies in February.

New York State Senator Joseph Robach secured $100,000 in state funding to support this event. Altogether, 19 Israeli companies will visit Rochester in upper New York state. More than a dozen of companies visited between June 1-10; the rest will visit the region in July.

GRE and its Israel-based partner Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) selected companies whose products and services match the Rochester community, infrastructure and labor pool.

The following Israeli companies are participating in the visit in June: AR Challenges Ltd.; AVT; Carmel Vision; Lumus Ltd.; MicroMRI; PSik Solutions; Real Time Radiology; Shiloach Software Systems; Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT); TC Export; Telecont Communications Ltd.; and Women's Health Care Center. New York State's Empire State Development office in Israel are participating as well. Six more companies, including Oree Inc., are scheduled to visit in July.

The initiative is already starting to pay off. In February, Israeli technology firm Aliroo Ltd. announced it would relocate its U.S. headquarters from Houston to Rochester, creating 20 jobs.
