Israir starts New York flights

El Al is facing competition from an Israeli airline on the New York route for the first time.

In the presence of joint Ganden Tourism and Aviation chairmen Nochi Dankner and Avi Fischer, Israir today launched its new New York route.

Starting Saturday night, Israir will operate flights three times a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, using a Boeing 767-300. Flights will leave Ben Gurion Airport and JFK Airport in New York. Israir is also offering follow-on flights to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.

The flights will be the first charters between Israel and New York. El Al is facing competition from an Israeli airline on the New York route for the first time.
