Cable TV companies’ high-speed Internet revenue reaches annualized $50m

The average revenue per subscriber is an annualized NIS 750. Revenue from providing Internet infrastructure services accounts for over 10% of the companies’ total revenue.

Sources inform “Globes” that the aggregate revenue of the three cable television companies from high-speed Internet has reached an annualized $50 million. The cable companies now have 300,000 high-speed Internet subscribers, 75% of whom receive 750 kbps broadband service.

According to these figures, the average revenue per subscriber is NIS 750 per year, or NIS 62.50 per month. Revenue from providing high-speed Internet infrastructure service already accounts for over 10% of the cable companies’ total revenue.

The cable companies have an aggregate 35% market share of Israel’s high-speed Internet market, while Bezeq (TASE:BZEQ) provides a high-speed Internet hook-up to over 500,000 customers. At this point, the growth in the number of subscribers is more gradual than in previous years, since penetration of the service among households in Israel is nearing 40%.

The cable companies said that over half of new customers are currently choosing cable high-speed Internet, and that the gap between Bezeq and the cable companies would therefore narrow in the future.
