Arkal Automotive of Israel to be General Motors supplier

Arkal Automotive will supply protective casing for car batteries.

Arkal Automotive has won a €5 million, seven-year project to supply protective casing for car batteries for General Motors (NYSE: GM) in Europe.

The protective casing, which is made of plastic reinforced with fiberglass, will replace similar metal-based product. The casing provides thermal protection and safety in traffic accidents.

Israel company GM-UMI Technology (GM-UMIT), a joint venture of General Motors and Universal Motors Israel (UMI), locates and invests in research and technological development in the auto industry for General Motors. GM-UMIT is helping Arkal Automative expand its business connections with General Motors.

Arkal Automotive develops, manufactures, and supplies plastic-based structural parts and systems for the auto industry in Europe and the US. Founded in 1963, Arkal Plastics Products began working in the auto industry in 1997.
