Plan for Nurit community deposited

Nurit, on Mt. Gilboa, is planned as an ecological community and tourist attraction.

The plan for the founding of Nurit near the road from the Jezreel junction to Mt. Gilboa was deposited last week. Nurit was originally a moshav (communal village) that eventually became a training camp for the Gadna (paramilitary training program for teenagers), before being abandoned several years ago.

500 lots, of 500-1,200 sq.m. each, are planned for Nurit. 166 housing units will be built in the first stage.

Nurit is planned as an ecological community that will preserve the environment and vistas, by shade enhancement, collecting rainwater, recycling water, using energy-saving devices, and recycling. Environmentally friendly buildings will receive extra building rights.

Nurit is planned as a tourist attraction, with restaurants, galleries and other attractions. It will include many open spaces, bike paths and perimeter paths.
